Some years ago, my family went on holiday to France via the ferry. The journey there was…rough. I have been known to get sick in cars and on ferries; unfortunately, the journey to France was one of those times.
The journey back wasn’t.
The sea was completely calm. There didn’t even seem to be any small waves and the water reflected the sunset: orange slowly melting into purple.
I can’t remember exactly what I said to my dad. But he said that sunset and the calm sea was there just for me. And I really felt that it was.
